These are some of the ways that I have managed to save money on getting supplies and tools. Honestly, there are so many different ways to save money and there is no one way to do it. I try looking at every possibility before buying the supplies at full price and I do my best to wait for a crazy deal. For more ways to save make sure to check out part 2!
Stock up when regular sales and clearance sales happen:
I do this regularly on items that I know I use all the time and will not expire or degrade. I am always checking websites and am I signed up for emails to notify when the sales happen. I always buy extra blades for my Cricut when there is a great sale. Depending on the materials and projects I am working on a blade can dull fast so blades are always on my list. When the oracal vinyl sheets go on sale at Micheals I always stock up on them as well.

Buy in bulk:
This kind of goes with the first one but depending on what craft supplies you use there is always the opportunity for buying in bulk and for other supplies, it’s really hard to find. For example, through Cricut's website you can buy the blades, mats and other materials in bulk. If you need a large amount of anything always take the time to research the site and deals. There have been a few times for me where the deal isn’t worth it.
After-season sales:
This is a great way to stock up for the following year's projects because some of the deals can be crazy good like up to 70% off. I do this every year after Christmas, Valentine's and Easter. I have gotten cardstock, blank cards with Christmas designs, baubles, stamps and so much more just after Christmas. There have been times when I have only paid 4 dollars for a 30 dollar item.
Store coupons:
Michaels always has a coupon that can be used on some items the percentage may vary but they have one. I have found this to come in handy on many occasions. Some stores will take manufacturer coupons or other store coupons. Just double-check because you never know. Please look at the exemptions before going there are just items a coupon can not be used on.
Craft supply swap:
Swaps are a great way to get supplies if you only need a small amount of something. I have done this with friends and family. Check to see if there is somewhere in your area like Makers space that has a free items cabinet that you can source things from just remember to leave somethings as well. There are Facebook groups that you join and swap with people too.

Price match if possible:
Lots of places do this but there are some limits. Some places won’t price match with Amazon or they won’t at all depending on the reason for the sale. It never hurts to ask and most stores will be more than happy to help you out. Also, having the information for the cashier to help the transaction go a little faster.
Ask for supplies for Christmas or birthday:
I do this every year and it has worked out great. I have asked for Cricut mats, tools and accessories that I want, cardstock and a bunch of other things. I don’t usually use those materials in items I sell it is usually for personal use. But the tools and the accessories I use to help create the project.
