Craft and Photo Keeper Storage Ideas

I love using these cases in my craft room. I have so many, and they are full and lined up on the top of a shelf. It has made storing and organizing my supplies in my craft room easier and getting my supplies easier. These are one of my favourite ways to store craft supplies.

I do craft shows and sell my creations on Shopify(link)/Etsy(link). Before I had these cases, I was just using random boxes and containers, and it never went back the same way; having these made it easier to pack up and make it faster. I make duplicates of items, and leave them in the smaller labelled cases, and when I need them, I just grab the small case.

If you go places to craft, meet with friends or are a part of groups that go places, this can help you carry your supplies, depending on what you do.

I am sure there are items and ideas that I am missing, but it’s a start to get you going if you are looking for ways to organize your supplies.

Materials

Once your supplies are organized, use the label maker to label the smaller cases with what is in them. Making it easier to find what is in there when you open it. 

If you only have one or two cases, you don’t really need to label the outside of the case since it would be easy to remember which one is which. If you are like me and have a lot, I labelled the side with a large vinyl decal to make it easier to grab which one I need. Eventually, I want to do the smaller cases with custom vinyl labels like the outside.

Ideas for case

These can be used for all kinds of different supplies; it depends on the crafts you like to do and how you want to organize and store them. These are some of what I have, but yours will be different, with what you have in your craft room.

Vinyl scraps

• Sorted and labelled by colour, patterned, glitter, metallic and random.

Cardstock scraps

• Sorted and labelled by colour, patterned, glitter, metallic, seasonal and random.

Embellishments 

• Bows, beads, chipboard cutouts, small flowers, paper cutouts and random cutouts, buttons, clothespins and other small items. Some of the items in my cases are items I bought and thought would be fun to craft with. 

Stickers 

• You can sort by: diecuts, planner, seasonal, floral, sports, book, animal, character, wedding or whatever you have. 

Stamps

• You can sort by: Seasonal, animal, floral, planner, wording, travelling, people, boho and objects or whatever you have.
• Ink pads and cleaners,

Stock for craft shows

• This is a great way to travel with small items; they are all in one place rather than spread across multiple containers. You can leave the duplicates in the smaller cases, and with them labelled, you can easily find the extras if needed. It will make packing up faster because it has a home. Also makes packing my totes easier because it is always one big case to put in and pack around the cases. 

Stationary 

• You can organize by colour, brand, or tip size.
• Pens - Gel, ballpoint, roller ball, felt-tipped, calligraphy or fountain.
• Markers - Brush, dual tip, alcohol-based, oil-based, water-based or paint markers.
• Pencils & pencil crayons - Sketching, drawing, charcoal, watercolour colouring and pencil grade.
• Chalkboard markers.
• Whiteboard markers.
• Eraser and eraser refills and pen refills
• Clips and push pins.

Photos & items for Scrapbooking

If you do a lot of scrapbooking, this is a good way to organize your photos as you print them, so they are ready to go, and you don't have to sort through piles. If there are any other items you want to put in your scrapbook, like ticket stubs or specific stickers, they are there. Group everything together in the small cases.

Paints & brushes 

• Sort by colour or brand
• Paint type - Acrylic, water colour, oil, gouache, enamel or paint markers. 
• Brushes - brush tip, water colour, acrylic, oil, or multi-use
• Any mediums or cleaning supplies that might fit

Jewelry-making supplies

Craft blanks 

• Bookmarks, keychains, tags and ornaments
• You can also put the accessories to make these items, like tassels, keychain rings and strings.

Fabrics and sewing 

Wax seal supplies 

Random craft supplies 

• Sometimes, there are supplies you don’t know what to do with, your smaller items, and this will give you an option. It depends on what type of crafts you do.
• Scissors, precision knives, rulers, weeding tools, bone folders, squeegees.
• Glue pens, tape, glue sticks and hot glue sticks.
• Any adhesives 
• Magnets

I hope this gets you started with organizing your craft supplies, your craft room or the items you sell. I honestly love organizing my supplies; it is so incredibly satisfying.
